IN MEMORY OF ALEXANDER ZAKHARCHENKO

On August 31, 2018, Major-General Alexander Vladimirovich Zakharchenko was killed by a bomb installed in the Separ restaurant in the center of Donestk by a Ukrainian neo-nazi group, among other twelve victims. Despite the pompous title of Major General, Zakharchenko did not want to be a military man, but historical events during his short life led him, inexorably, to the arms career and politics.

Zakharchenko was born on June 26, 1976 in the city of Donestk, which at the time belonged to the socialist Ukraine that was part of the Soviet Union.

In the Soviet Union, apart from that of the astronauts, there was no profession more honorable than that of the miners. As a boy, Zakharchenko dreamed of working in mines, following the example of his father. He graduated from a technical school and went to work as a mine-electrician.

The salary of a miner in the USSR allowed the purchase of a "Zhiguli" (a Russian automobile brand that was renamed Lada when exported), tourism trips, frequenting restaurants ... What does not happen in capitalism. For these reasons, among others, Zakharchenko was proud to be a Soviet citizen, where the worker was not seen as a merchandise, but as the center of power. Through his studies of history, Zakharchenko knew that the great enemies of the workers and of socialism were the fascists and the Nazis.

In recognition of his work and leadership qualities, Zakharchencko was appointed chief director of the Donestk branch of the Oplot organization in Kharkov, which manufactured the famous Ukrainian T-84 Oplot tanks. Zakharchenko married Natalya and the couple had four children, the last one born in 2015. Life seemed light to Alexander Zakharchenko.

But Zakharchenko's fate was sealed. With the betrayal of Gorbachev and Yeltsen, the Soviet Union disintegrated. Ukraine separated from the USSR. And in 2014, the heirs of Stepan Bandera, the Ukrainian nazi, took a coup in Ukraine and took power. Then, following Hitler's "verboten", the Ukrainian "заборонено" (pronounced zaboroneno) was implanted, both meaning "forbidden". Plutocratic Poroshenko and the neo-nazi party, heir to Stepan Bandera, the Svoboda, banned everything concerning the Soviet Union, including newspapers, books, written in Russian.

The reaction to neo-nazism did not take long and, still in 2014, Donetsk and Lugansk became independent and popular republics. Inevitably, a war broke out between Neo-Nazi Ukraine and Donbass, the region formed by the people's republics of Donestk and Lugansk. The war continues, increasingly bloody, and this conflict can generate a world war.

In the last century, the Spanish Republic was the first country to fight, with arms, against fascism and nazism. The People's Republics of Donestk and Lugansk are the first countries in this century to fight with guns against neofascism and neo-nazism. Time will tell you that this is an honor, despite the great sacrifice.

Zakharchenko created and led the Donestk militia decorations. He was then awarded the position of Major-General. He participated in battles, where he was repeatedly wounded and received the Golden Star Medal of Hero of the People's Republic of Donestk, among others.

On 8 August 2014, Zakharchenko became Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Supreme Council of the People's Republic of Donestk. Leading the people of Donestk and his militia in the struggle for independence and against neo-Nazism, a bomb reaped his life as a hero of Donbass.

Through his life and death, Zakharchenko proved his dedication and his love for the people, socialism and freedom.

Eternal glory to hero Alexander Vladimirovich Zakharchenko!
