On the afternoon of Thursday 4th of October, in the auditorium GINIS, of the Polytechnic University of Athens, the historical building of the 1973’s uprising, literally in the center of the city, an event took place to honor the killed leader of the Peoples Republic of Donetsk, Alexander Zacharchenko.
In the central point of the auditorium there was a big picture of Zacharchenko and around it several more from other heroes of Donbass, such as Motorola, Givi, and our own Fenia. The auditorium was full in one of the most successful events about Donbass here in Athens.
In the event there were two videos from Eduard Basurin Leader of the Military Forces of P.R. Donetsk and Andrei Kotsetov Leader of Workers Unions of P.R. Lugansk, also a message from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Donetsk was read. Next the speech was to the organizers of the event.
There were 11 organizations that organized the event, all from the leftwing that, for anyone familiar with the political situation in Greece, is a big success on its own. All speakers analyzed the situation in Donbass and in Ukraine, after the coop of Maydan and the establishment of the Poroshenko regime, and convicted its fascist policy and its criminal methods.
The speakers also strongly denounced the policy of the West, especially of the E.U. and mainly of the U.S.A., for their obvious support to the fascist regime of Kiev politically, financially and militarily, and their role and participation to the criminal activities against Donbass. Equally strong was the denunciation of Greek government, for having abandoned the Greek-speaking population of the area to support the Poroshenko regime.

The talk about Donbass in the West (and in Greece) went through a lot of steps. Firstly it was a success even to say the word Donbass, or to name the Public Republics in an event. The main goal was to brake the wall of silence in the western media and to give information.
Secondly there was discussion, but not about what is happening in Donbass, but about why it is happening. Much was heard about instigators, geo-political strategies etc. But the people of Donbass, with determination and combativeness, answered all these arguments. Donbass was rightfully described during the event as the first frontier in the antifascist struggle of our time. A benchmark for fight for freedom, civil rights and social benefits in Europe and worldwide.
Alexander Zackarenchko was able to inspire his fellow citizens and to guide them successfully in this fight. It would seem that he managed to even inspire us here in Greece too, in the fight against the American imperialism, for a land free from fascism. A fight that, not only we must, but also we can win.
